The government has released some of the regulations for health plans as part of the Affordable Care Act. New health plans will, as of September 23rd, have to pay for routine preventive services such as cancer screenings,
routine vaccinations, prenatal care, and wellness visits for infants
and children. The co-pays for these services are also being eliminated.
These changes are welcome news and will go a long way to helping make health care more affordable for everyone in need -- and in the long run reduce the overall cost of care by placing an emphasis on prevention.
